Janaki Cedanna, our studio and production manager, has been filming a historic dig led by ASU’s Institute of Human Origins at Mossel Bay in South Africa for a little over two weeks.
Janaki and the team of archaeologists hope to record new insights into how humans lived, hunted and worked some 100,000 years ago.
Janaki was co-sponsored by Bogen Imaging and Zylight and will return at the end of this month.

Great news! Sun Devil Productions new website is up and running! We are now official.
We’ve been very busy the last quarter of 2008. Production with the Arizona Jewish Historical Society to create an exhibit on Jewish cultural life in the Valley is complete and we are now ensconced in post production. We are knee deep in production for the Professor of the Year Awards for the Arizona State University Foundation.

Currently, Sun Devil is creating a museum exhibit for the Arizona Jewish Historical Society, consisting of over 100 interviews with prominent voices from the Jewish Community in the Valley of the Sun. These interviews focus on the history of the community in Phoenix and its growth over the past century. The final version of these interviews will help anchor a new museum to be opened by the Historical Society early in 2009.
In June 2008, Sun Devil shot, “The Space Inside,” a performance expanding the vision of a life lived in the context of impending death. This critically acclaimed one-woman theatrical piece has been performed both nationally and internationally for over a decade by actor, teacher and director, Maria Porter. The film work will both serve as a memorial for archives, schools and teaching purposes, and will be distributed for commercial purposes.

On Tuesday, September 2, 2008, Sun Devil Productions, LLC officially opened its doors as one of the premier film and media development production companies in the state of Arizona.
